Your Furniture Glow-up is Complete
Here’s how to keep it that way.
This isn’t big box furniture. Every refinished piece is hand-touched, sealed with care, and built to last. All you have to do is treat it right! Here’s how to love your new piece long-term.
💭 Can I start using or decorating it right away?
Yes, with a little care. Most pieces already have a 7-day head start on curing before they ever leave my hands. But to be safe, I recommend giving them a little breathing room for the next couple of weeks.
For the first 1–2 weeks in your home:
Avoid placing heavy or sharp bottomed decor directly on the surface
Don’t use any cleaners or sprays
Let the piece breathe (no tablecloths, runners, or baskets on top just yet)
Don’t drag items across the surface
After that, you’re good to go. Once fully cured (typically 21–30 days total), your piece will be sealed, hardened, and ready for everyday life.
🧼 How should I clean it?
Keep it simple and gentle.
Dust with a dry microfiber cloth
For fingerprints or smudges, use a damp cloth with water only — then dry immediately
Avoid sprays, wipes, or anything with alcohol, ammonia, or citrus oils
⚠️ Harsh sprays can eat away at the finish and cause cloudy spots or peeling over time. Stick with gentle methods — your piece will thank you.
🛡️ Is it durable enough for everyday life?
Absolutely — once cured, your piece is designed to hold up to real life.
That said, it’s still a handcrafted finish, so a few precautions will go a long way:
Use coasters under drinks, plants, and candles
Add felt pads under decor or anything that gets moved often
Don’t leave standing water or spills
Avoid direct sunlight if possible to prevent fading or yellowing
🧰 What if it scratches, chips, or gets damaged?
Don’t worry — minor touch-ups are totally doable.
If your piece came with a small paint pot or touch-up kit, use a tiny artist brush or Q-tip and apply lightly
No kit? Snap a photo and message me — I’ll walk you through a custom fix or suggest a product match
For deeper damage, I may be able to help with a repair service or offer guidance
🌡️ Can I put it in a bathroom or outside?
In most cases: nope.
Unless we discussed it beforehand, your piece is best in climate-controlled indoor spaces. Bathrooms with heavy moisture or patios (even covered) can break down the finish, swell the material, or cause warping over time.
🧴 What products do you recommend for upkeep?
Since most of my pieces are either wood with paint wash/stain or painted (wood and non-wood), here’s what I actually recommend:
Soft microfiber cloths (dry or slightly damp) for weekly dusting
Water only for cleaning
NO waxes or oils — they can cloud or react with the sealant
Avoid all-purpose sprays — even the “natural” ones often contain citrus or alcohol
💎 Want to keep it protected long-term? Coasters and gentle use are better than any product on the market.
📦 How can I make sure it lasts as long as possible?
Clean gently, regularly
Use coasters and trays where needed
Avoid moisture and direct sun
Move decor items occasionally to avoid ghost rings or pressure marks
For high-use pieces, consider rotating placement every few years for even wear
🎨 Can I repaint or restyle it in the future?
Maybe — it depends on the finish.
Most pieces are sealed with high-durability topcoats, which means you’ll need to properly prep before painting again.
If you’re thinking about restyling it someday, send me a message first. I’ll let you know what products were used and how to get the best results if you ever want to update the look.
